“Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature”
Whether we like it or not, change is the catchword of our age. At times, absolute confusion seems to dominate. Today’s accelerated rate of change, even in the workplace, has opened doors for the Chaplains and all believers to be a light in the midst of confusion and transition. The very foundations of our way of life are being challenged, shaken and reshaped. The workplace of the future will be different from the workplace of the past or present. We must accept the responsibility of reaching out to those who are in need. We must live realistically in the present as we learn from the past and prepare for the future. The Chaplaincy vision that we establish today can take us safely into the changing workplace to achieve our Lord’s commission--Go ye therefore.
If we follow God’s plan everything will be all right. “I know the plan that I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
God put you on this earth for a specific purpose. During the strike, many of you expressed interest in helping the chaplaincy committee become a light in the workplace and community. Now is the time for us to get busy. Our annual prayer breakfast will be held on August 16 at the Union Hall. We will be planning our first musical program later this year featuring UAW Local 31 Chaplaincy Choir. Our outreach ministry will focus on feeding the homeless at the City Union Mission. We will also be planning an event for our children.
Please contact the Union Hall for additional information about these events and let us know if you would like to volunteer.
We pray that your Holy Spirit will usher in a new day of cooperation among us, a fresh spirit of working together for your glory and honor. May we be reminded of the words of our Lord and Savior who reminded us that “every house divided against itself shall not stand. Amen---Amen----Amen.
