Dear Union Brothers and Sisters:
It is the first of March and we’re still having insanely cold weather and way too much snow! Lets all keep a good thought towards the wonderful days of Spring which are right around the corner.
The Community Service and the Chaplaincy Committee have a couple of activities that we are working on together. First off is the towel drive. We are still trying to reach our goal of 5,000 towels. There are still containers where you can drop off your donations. You can obviously drop them off at the Union Hall, or you can leave them in the drop boxes that are located in the skill center and also the work center. We greatly appreciate all your kindness and generosity in this endeavor.
Next coming up will be the Pine Wood Derby on April 17 in the auditorium. This is a program that has been sponsored at General Motors Fairfax for many, many years and has been an overwhelming success each of those years. This is an actual Pinewood Derby wherein the Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts come out and race the Derby cars that they have built. All proceeds from this and concessions will be donated to these organizations to assist in funding camp for boys that could not otherwise afford to go. We also will be having 4 food sales to support this cause between now and the 17th of April, so watch the daily Fairfax Report for those upcoming food sale events. Please come by and purchase some goodies so that we can continue to be successful in sending scouts on a great camping experience that they will not forget.
Solidarity forever,
