Sisters & Brothers of Local 31:
We currently have 157 grievances in the procedure. Saturday, JUNE 25, 2011 has been CANCELLED and rescheduled for SEPTEMBER 24, 2011, 8 hours production for all 3 shifts.
Management has hired an additional 60 temporary employees – 30 for vacation relief. The others are to fill vacancies while awaiting permanent transfers from other locations.
The “annual automatic exemption period” for this model year will begin May 26, 2011 and will end June 30, 2011. During this time, the 9-hour daily hour and Saturday and Sunday overtime is waived per the National Agreement.
Resolutions for the upcoming local agreement should be submitted beginning on May 30, 2011 through July 1, 2011. Drop off your completed forms at the Work Center or the Union Hall.
Congratulations to all the candidates on the past election and on a personal note I would like to thank the membership for their continuous support.
The next union meeting will be June 18, 2011 at 2:00 at the Hall, plan on attending.
