VICE PRESIDENT’S REPORT
Sisters & Brothers,
Our newly elected standing committees are organized and functioning. Each committee is planning events and working diligently to not only educate our members, but also to provide opportunities for us to collaborate in and outside of our facility. This local is fortunate to have many members that have either served on a committee and/or volunteered to work with a standing committee. There is always room for volunteers. Please stop by or call the Union Hall to contact the chairperson of the committee that you would like to work with.
At this time, I would like to acknowledge one of our recent retired members, Mr. Mike Kane who retired as our 1st shift Safety Representative. After serving many elected and appointed positions here at Local 31, he has also served our members as Wyandotte County Commissioner. Even with his retirement he will still be a voice for the UAW in our community. We all thank him for his past work and his future support.
I also want to acknowledge and thank all of the veterans in the plant and all of those who have retired. You have served us well and we appreciate your dedication to our country.
If any of you need my assistance, please contact me by leaving a message at the Union Hall at (913) 342-7330. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday; be safe in your time away.
In solidarity,
AJ Shumate,
Vice President
