Hello Sisters and Brothers,

Cell Phones— With the up rise in domestic violence that is occurring around the world, related to stress, job losses, foreclosures, and other financial challenges.  Battered women’s shelters are now in great need of various items such as cell phones, chargers, batteries and cash donations.   These cell phones will be programmed to only dial 911 in an event of an emergency.  The Women’s Committee is collecting these items for NEWHOUSE, a local non for profit Safehouse for women.  You can drop items off at the Union Hall, leave your name and address for a $25 tax deduction receipt to be sent to you.  OR, give items to any committee member.

T-shirts—We are now taking orders for the purple Phenomenal Woman T-shirts.  Prices are Small-XL  is $17.00 and 2X-4X is $20.00.

Secret Pal—For Union Sisters only, we currently have a plant-wide Secret Pal going on, and it’s not too late to participate. Then at the end of year, we will have a party to reveal who the secret pals are. Please see any committee member for a form if you want to join in.

White Linen Party— As a fundraiser, we are sponsoring our annual “White

Linen Party” on June 12, 2010 at the Union Hall from 9:00pm till 1:30am.  Union BROTHERS, you are in invited to this casual dress event, so come stroll in your white short set, out-fit, jeans, suit, slacks, etc.  And SISTERS, we know you know what to sashay in—your white sun dress, short set, pant suit, skirts, jeans, capris, etc. We plan to have food, set-ups, and a cool DJ to play a variety of music for the line dancers, 2 steppers, jammers, ball room dancers, and even the slow dancers.  We’ll even have a brief entertainment which will be a “Battle of the States Fashion Show”. As this is a fundraiser, a $7 donation per person will be greatly appreciated.  BYOB

Just4us booklet with a short synapse of each of us and distribute to Local 31 Sisters. You can turn your form in at the hall, or give to any committee member.  Deadline to turn in forms is June 16, 2010.  So please, don’t get left out.
